Why project alerts matter
Project management without alerts requires the PM to manually check the status of every task, on every active project, every day. This is feasible for a PM managing one or two projects. Alert 3: Budget Warning
A Budget Warning alert fires when a project's logged hours cross a percentage threshold of the total budget.

Alert deduplication
Alert fatigue, the point where a team stops reading alerts because there are too many, undermines the entire system. Global defaults vs per-project overrides
Alert thresholds are set at the workspace level as defaults, and can be overridden per project. A retainer project with naturally longer task cycles might have the Bottleneck threshold increased to 10 days. A high-stakes launch project might have the Deadline Risk threshold increased to 3 days for extra lead time. The workspace owner sets the global defaults. Project admins can override them for individual projects within the range the workspace owner permits.
