What is a campaign planning template?
A campaign planning template is a pre-built project structure for managing every task in a marketing campaign — from brief and asset production through channel execution and post-campaign reporting — with owners, deadlines, and a budget tracker organized by channel in one board. It replaces the campaign planning spreadsheet, the brief document, the Slack channel for creative requests, and the Monday meeting where everyone reports on their channel's status.
Melororium's Campaign Planning Template creates a project per campaign with channel-based task categories: Paid Ads, Email, Social Media, Landing Page, PR/Outreach. Each channel has its own tasks, owners, and deadlines anchored to the campaign launch date in the Calendar. Time tracking shows where campaign production hours actually go.
Why campaigns miss launch dates
Campaign launch delays are almost always caused by a dependency failure — one channel task blocks another and the block isn't visible until it's too late to recover. The landing page copy was supposed to be done two weeks before launch so the designer could lay it out. The copy came in one week before launch. The design took a week. Launch is delayed by a week.
This chain of events is entirely preventable with a dependency-aware task board where each task's deadline is set relative to the launch date. When the copy task slips, the board shows immediately that the design task deadline is now at risk. The PM can escalate the copy task three days earlier — when recovery is still possible.
How marketing teams plan and execute campaigns without surprises
One project per campaign — all channels in one board
A campaign that runs across paid, email, social, and organic channels has tasks in each channel. All of these tasks live in the same campaign project in Melororium. The PM sees every channel's production status in one view — not four separate Kanban boards that require switching context to understand the overall campaign picture.
Launch date as the Calendar anchor
Pin the launch date in the Calendar. All tasks have deadlines set relative to that anchor: landing page live 2 weeks before launch, email sequences built 1 week before launch, social content in the scheduler 3 days before launch. When the launch date moves, tasks shift relative to the new date — no manual date updates across 30 tasks.
Budget tracked alongside time
The campaign project holds a budget field. Logged time (hours × team rate) plus ad spend (logged as expense line items) depletes the budget in real time. At 80% of campaign budget consumed before the launch date, the PM knows — and can make decisions before the budget is exhausted.
Post-campaign report built into the structure
The campaign template includes a Post-Campaign phase with tasks: performance metrics pull, results vs. KPIs review, what-worked-what-didn't documentation, and invoice generation. These tasks exist before the campaign starts — ensuring the post-campaign analysis happens every time, not only when someone remembers.
Campaign planning template vs. Monday.com
Monday.com charges $12/user/month — $1,440/year for 10 users. Monday has Kanban and calendar views well-suited to campaign management, but it doesn't include time tracking connected to billing. Your team still needs Toggl for hours ($1,200/year) and a billing tool for client invoicing.
Melororium Agency covers 10 users for $59/mo. Campaign planning, time tracking, client CRM, and invoicing all connected. After year one the saving exceeds $2,340 vs. Monday plus Toggl.
