What is a team productivity report?
A team productivity report shows how each team member's time and output is distributed across projects — hours logged per person per project, tasks completed per person, and a flag for anyone whose hours are significantly above or below their typical contribution. It's the report that answers "is my team actually productive, and is the workload distributed fairly?" without requiring a weekly status meeting from every team member.
Melororium's Team Productivity Report generates from accumulated time tracker and task data. Filter by any date range to see each team member's hours by project, tasks completed, percentage of team hours they represent, and a capacity indicator showing where they are relative to their contract hours.
Why productivity is hard to see without a report
In most agencies, work is tracked at the task level — who owns which tasks, whether tasks are complete. But productivity — the ratio of time invested to output delivered — is almost never tracked systematically.
A team member who closes 30 tasks in a week but logs 65 hours is doing something different than a team member who closes 30 tasks in 35 hours. Both have "high task completion." Only the hours-per-task ratio reveals the difference — and that ratio isn't visible in a task board without a productivity report.
What the productivity report reveals that a task board doesn't
Hours per task — the efficiency metric
The productivity report shows hours logged per completed task per person. Over time, this metric reveals whether a team member's pace is changing (burnout often appears as declining efficiency before it appears as declining output), whether certain task types are consistently over-estimated, and whether specific projects are consuming disproportionate time relative to their delivery.
Cross-person comparison without blame
The report shows all team members side by side. The purpose isn't to shame low performers — it's to identify whether workload imbalance exists. If one team member has logged 55 hours while another in the same role has logged 28 hours in the same week, that imbalance either reflects a scope mismatch in task assignment or a capacity issue that needs the manager's attention.
Bottleneck identification per project
Filter the productivity report by project to see which team member is the bottleneck. If a content project has three team members contributing, and 70% of the hours are logged by one person while the other two are logging minimal time, the project is effectively running on one person. That's a risk and a workload problem.
Trend over time for capacity planning
Weekly or monthly productivity snapshots over 3–6 months show trends: is the team's output growing, declining, or flat as the client base grows? Is a specific team member's utilization consistently climbing month over month? These trends are the early indicators that inform hiring decisions, scope conversations, and operational adjustments.
Team productivity report vs. time tracking alone
A time tracking tool shows hours logged. A productivity report connects hours to output — how many tasks, how many projects, at what pace. The combination is the management view that neither a task board nor a time tracker provides alone.
Melororium's Work Reports module generates team productivity reports from the same data the team generates by doing their work. Agency plan for 10 users is $59/mo.
