What is a team utilization report?

A team utilization report shows how much of each person's available work time was actually logged. The standard benchmark is an 8-hour workday. If a team member logged 6 hours on a Tuesday, their utilization for that day is 75%. If they logged 10 hours, it is 125% — a signal worth investigating.

Utilization is a leading indicator of two problems: overload (people who will burn out or miss deadlines before anyone notices) and underload (people who have capacity that could absorb more work). A weekly check of utilization lets managers redistribute work before problems develop.

How team utilization works in Melororium

The Live Timers page shows utilization for the selected day in the Time Line view. Each person's bar represents their logged time as a percentage of the 8-hour norm. Work segments appear in blue, break segments in teal, and overtime (past 5 PM) in amber. Clock-in time, clock-out time, and a late marker appear alongside each bar.

An attendance widget at the top of the page flags who has not logged any time today and who is on approved leave. This lets managers see at a glance — without messages or check-ins — who is working, who is absent, and who may need a nudge.

The Weekly Timesheet tab shows a member × day grid for the selected week. Each cell shows hours logged per day. Column totals show which days the team was most productive. Row totals show total weekly hours per person. Navigate to any past week with the arrow controls.

Anomaly detection

The Work Monitoring badge above the timer list automatically flags unusual activity: sessions running more than 4 or 8 hours without stopping, night work (22:00–06:00), weekend work, multiple simultaneous timers per person, and total daily load over 9 or 12 hours. Each flag is dismissable once investigated.

8 hours per day. The Time Line view always uses 8 hours as the reference. There is no setting to change this — it is a standard workday benchmark.

Yes. The Weekly Timesheet lets you navigate backward one week at a time. The Time Line view lets you pick any past date with the date picker.

It shows two groups: team members who have not logged any time today, and team members with approved leave requests for today. People on leave are not shown as absent.
