What is a remote team timesheet?

A remote team timesheet is a time logging system designed for distributed teams working across multiple timezones — where each team member logs their own hours independently, and the manager sees a consolidated view of the whole team's work without chasing spreadsheets or holding synchronous check-ins.

Melororium's Remote Team Timesheet template gives each team member their own daily time log per task, with both live timers (start/stop) and manual entry (start time + end time) available. The manager's Work Report shows all team members' hours consolidated by person, project, and week — generated in one click on Friday afternoon.

Why remote time tracking fails with spreadsheets

The most common remote timesheet is a shared Google Sheet where each team member fills in their hours at the end of the day. The problems are predictable: the sheet gets broken when two people edit it simultaneously, the structure drifts as people add rows in different formats, people forget to fill it in until Thursday, and the total formula at the bottom is wrong because of a merged cell somewhere.

Beyond the mechanics, a shared spreadsheet has no audit trail. If a team member claims they logged 6 hours on a task but the client questions it, there's no timestamp to verify. The timesheet says what the person typed — not what actually happened.

How distributed teams log time without friction

Live timer and manual entry for different work styles

Some team members prefer to start a timer when they begin a task and stop it when they finish. Others prefer to log their day at the end: 2 hours on Project A, 3 hours on Project B, 1 hour on internal meetings. Both methods work in Melororium and log to the same reports. The manager sees all hours combined, regardless of how they were logged.

Timezone-independent logging with consistent reporting

Hours are logged in each person's local time. The Work Report aggregates them into the team's reference timezone for consistent weekly totals. A developer in Warsaw, a designer in Lagos, and a PM in Mexico City all log their day independently — the weekly report shows combined hours correctly without any manual time zone math.

Live Timers page for real-time team visibility

The Live Timers page shows every currently active timer across all team members. For managers who want to know if the team is working without holding a standup, this page answers the question in 5 seconds. It's visibility without surveillance — you see what project someone is working on, not what they're typing.

Weekly report in 60 seconds

On Friday afternoon, open Work Reports, select the week, see every team member's hours by project. Export as PDF. Forward to the client if they require weekly time confirmation. Archive for records. The entire process takes under 2 minutes.

Remote timesheet vs. Toggl Track

Toggl Track costs $10/user/month — $1,200/year for a 10-person remote team. Toggl provides excellent time logging and reporting, but it has no project management, no client CRM, and no invoice generation. Your team still needs a task management tool ($600–$1,440/year) and a billing tool ($300+/year).

Melororium Agency covers 10 users for $59/mo. Remote time logging, consolidated work reports, task management, client CRM, and invoicing in one workspace. After year one the saving exceeds $1,741 vs. Toggl plus a basic project management tool.
